Laser Genesis
Xeo+ Laser Genesis is a non-ablative medical laser device / treatment that improves skin quality by gently heating the dermis (the deeper layer of the skin) while leaving the surface intact. It uses a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser, a wavelength widely used in clinical dermatology for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation and vascular improvement.
The Laser Genesis Facial is a luxurious experience that promotes revitalising the skin, leaving it plump and radiant. This advanced light-based treatment gently heats the dermal layer by delivering repetitive pulses of laser energy, stimulating collagen and elastin production. There-by enhancing skin texture and tone to deliver immediate, luminous results.
One of the key effects of the controlled dermal heating is collagen stimulation. Heat activates the fibroblast cells, which are responsible for producing collagen - the protein that gives skin its firmness and structural support. Over a series of treatments, this process helps improve skin texture, smooth the appearance of fine lines, and support overall skin resilience with incredible results.
The treatment also assists with vascular regulation. Because the laser energy is partially absorbed by haemoglobin (blood), it can help reduce the appearance of diffuse redness, rosacea-associated flushing and superficial broken capillaries. As circulation improves and inflammation is better regulated, skin tone appears more even and calm.
This treatment is designed for clients who want healthier, stronger, plumper, more even-looking skin without invasive procedures or recovery time.

ABOUT LASER GENESIS
WHAT IS LASER GENESIS?
Laser Genesis is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to improve skin tone, texture and overall radiance by stimulating collagen production.
HOW IT WORKS
Laser Genesis works by penetrating the skins surface and gently heating the upper dermis (the layer of the skin where collagen is found) through thousands of micro-pulses of light. Collagen is a structural protein that plays a key role in maintaining skin strength and elasticity. Production of collagen naturally slows over time, causing wrinkles, skin laxity and other changes associated with skin ageing.
Laser Genesis helps reverse these changes by generating heat that stimulates the body’s natural healing processes and activates collagen remodelling. This simultaneously enhances the skin’s quality on a cellular level and creates visible improvements on the skin’s surface. The heat from the laser genesis can also break down scar tissue, and helps to shrink blood vessels and diffuse redness.
WHAT CONDITIONS CAN IT TREAT?
It addresses fine lines, wrinkles, redness, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone and acne scars effectively.
WHAT AREAS CAN IT TREAT?
We treat the face, neck, decolletage and hands at this stage.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO HAVE LASER GENESIS?
Anytime, but you MUST avoid sun exposure for at least three weeks before and after the treatment because the area treated will be more prone to burning and increased pigmentation during this period. Apply DMK 50+ sunblock frequently and daily after the treatment.
BENEFITS
Laser Genesis can be suitable for various candidates with different skin concerns.
Some suitable candidates for Laser Genesis include individuals with fine lines and wrinkles since the treatment stimulates collagen production, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Candidates with enlarged pores can benefit from the treatment as it can help reduce the size of enlarged pores, leading to a more refined skin texture.
For those with uneven skin texture, Laser Genesis can effectively even out the skin’s texture, reducing the appearance of scars, acne scars and other textural irregularities.
Individuals with mild to moderate acne may find relief through the treatment. The laser’s heat can target the sebaceous glands in the skin, reducing acne breakouts and promoting clearer skin.
Laser Genesis can help people with redness or rosacea, as it can decrease redness and diffuse redness associated with rosacea, resulting in a more even skin tone.
The treatment can also address sun damage by helping to fade sunspots and other hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure.
PREPARATION
- A pre-treatment skin test is compulsory before having Limelight. This must be done at least 24 hrs prior to treatment so that we can establish the safest and most effective treatment setting for your skin. These tests are free and can be booked through our online booking site under the laser treatment section.
- Do not wear makeup on the day of treatment.
- Cease the use of vitamin A and actives on the skin 5 days prior to treatment
- Arrive with the treatment area free of makeup or lotions.
- Excess hair may need to be shaved. Men should be cleanly shaved.
- No sun-tanning or self-tanners 4 weeks prior to treatment. This includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc.
- Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.)
- Notify clinic with any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment.
- History of herpes or cold sores may require an anti-viral prescription, such as Valtrex, prior to your appointment

RESULTS
The results of a single Laser Genesis treatment are immediate but subtle and develop gradually over several sessions, with many patients noticing improvements after the first treatment. You will notice a healthier, more radiant complexion as minor imperfections diminish, fine lines soften and pores are minimised. With a series of Laser Genesis treatments, your results can be quite dramatic. Over the course of multiple sessions, you can expect a reduction of diffuse redness, fading of acne scarring, reduced appearance of lines and pores and an increasingly youthful look propelled by new collagen production.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE RECOMMENDED
We recommend a series of 6 treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart depending on your skin concern. After this series, maintenance treatments will be required. A lot of our patients will add a laser genesis treatment to their 4-6 weekly facial routine.
DOES LASER GENESIS HURT?
The treatment is comfortable, often described as a relaxing, warm sensation on the skin.
TREATMENT COMBINATIONS
A combined treatment approach often yields the most significant benefits. At Auraderm Aesthetics we recommend:
- Laser Genesis and Vascular Laser - A combination of short and long pulsed laser to improve redness and skin texture
- Laser Genesis and IPL Limelight Laser for Pigment - A combined treatment for pigmentation and skin texture
- Laser Genesis and microneedling - A combined treatment for collagen induction and acne scarring
- Laser Genesis and Rejuvenation Mask
POTENTIAL RISKS
In rare cases, there may be more significant side effects, including:
- Hyper or Hypo-pigmentation:Â Changes in skin colouration can occur, particularly in individuals with darker skin tones or those who do not adhere to pre-treatment and post-treatment care guidelines regarding sun exposure. Hyperpigmentation is an excess of pigment following treatment, whereas hypopigmentation is a loss of skin pigment. Both conditions are typically temporary but can concern patients.
- Bruising: Patients may experience bruising around the treated area, especially in treatments targeting vascular lesions. This usually resolves within a week but can last longer depending on the individual’s skin type and the area treated.
- Blistering and Scarring:Â Although rare due to the controlled delivery of laser energy, blistering and scarring are a small risk. This risk increases if the post-treatment care instructions are not followed, such as avoiding picking or scratching at the treatment site.
Following the specific aftercare instructions provided by the practitioner is crucial. These include avoiding direct sunlight, applying prescribed topical treatments and using gentle skincare products that do not irritate the treated area. By adhering to these guidelines, patients can significantly reduce the likelihood of complications and ensure a smooth, successful healing process. Regular follow-up appointments also allow the practitioner to monitor the treatment progress and manage any issues that arise promptly. Note: As with all clinical procedures, outcomes vary between individuals. No result is guaranteed. A full consultation is required before commencing treatment to assess suitability, discuss risks, contraindications and to clarify expectations.
